Plasma Skin Tightening

What exactly is Plasma Lift?
It is a cosmetic treatment that uses Plasma ( an electrical arc formed between the probe & the skin) to cause an instant tightening or ‘shortening’ at the site of treatment thus resulting in firmer tighter skin.

WHERE CAN TOU TREAT?
Anywhere! Although it can indeed treat anywhere from excess skin around the tummy or knees, the most popular areas to treat are the face & neck.

• Heavy eyelid
• Crow’s feet, 
• Under eye bags
• Smokers lines
• Lack of elasticity at the sides of face, jawline, neck and decollate 

All these areas can all be much improved following a course of treatments and specific home care both in the immediate aftermath and long-term to ensure the best results. Plasma Pen or Plasma Fibroblast, as it’s also known, is also a remarkable form of treatment for uneven pigmentation and dark sunspots that can be quite unsightly on the face, neck and also hands!
 

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ?
Between 2 & 4 treatments are typically required to achieve a desired result. During your consultation Aileen will discuss in detail what the process involves which will leave you fully aware of what to expect from this advanced aesthetic treatment. ‘i like to describe the process like taking an antibiotic, if you don’t complete the course – you can’t expect it to work’ says Aileen
 

Is there downtime?
Yes, but so worth it! As there is minor trauma caused to the upper layer of the skin, tiny crustrations or ‘scabs’ will form at the site of treatment. These little ‘dots’ which turn brown in colour and will remain on the area for up to a week. Glasses etc. can be helpful to conceal the eye area for example should you need to go about your daily business but you would need to time the treatment to work into your lifestyle as it can take between 6-10 days for your skin to fully recover.
 

SO HOW EXACTLY DOES IT WORK?
As mentioned, the initial stage of the process is the shortening of skin cells on the surface but there’s a lot more to it! As part of the skin healing process, COLLAGEN & ELASTIN production will be stimulated (These levels naturally deplete as we get older and can be hugely affected in a negative way by lifestyle choices). Over the weeks following treatment, remodelling of these fibres takes place, resulting in plumper firmer skin in the treated area, therefore it is approx 4 weeks post treatment before you can truly assess what you have achieved from your Plasma Pen treatment. For this reason there is a 4-6 weeks window in between your visits to Aileen for treatment.
 

IS IT UNCOMFORTABLE?
Although you may find some areas more sensitive in area, the area will be prepared by Aileen in advance. This takes approx 30mins which allows plenty time to reaffirm the all-important aftercare. A specific aftercare cream is included as part of your first treatment and should additional product be required for more lengthy courses of treatment, more can be purchased for just €20.
